Michal I: Documentary films on BPSP available now - Film 11

The work of master therapist Albert Pesso is documented in this new series of films on DVD. Each DVD shows a complete individual session which Al conducted with a client in workshops held in 2011 and 2012. Each DVD also includes a brief interview with the client and with Al. Although each session is different based on the needs and direction of the individual client, the theory and interventions which are unique to PBSP (Pesso-Boyden System Psychomotor) are clearly illustrated in this context.
PBSP is a creative and highly effective approach to help clients resolve the impact of trauma and unmet developmental needs on their current functioning. This series is intended to provide material for research into the process of change, study by clinicians wanting to learn clinical skills and the PBSP method and for the education of clients. The series preserves examples of the work of a gifted and original contributor to the field of therapy.

At the start of the session the client, Michal (IT expert, married, father of three children), is not clear what issues he wants to address. By the end of the session, however, he "finds his soul"and learns something about what it means to "exist fully". Al is masterful in identifying and "witnessing"the client's thoughts, feelings and experience during the session. He also handles "resistance"deftly, for example, when the client is unable to imagine his mother having an "ideal partner".
